Mellow Mushroom in Winston Salem

We love going to Mellow Mushroom when we want a good pizza. Always tasty! Tried the steak and cheese once....will stick with the pizza. Wish they had domestic beer specials, Michelob Ultra $4.50 is a little steep but comparable with some other downtown restaurants. Large pizza, 3 beers, and tip = 50 bucks... Will continue to treat ourselves a few times a year.

First time going to this Mellow Mushroom. It is Awesome 👍🏾. Great food and Great Employees ♥️♥️♥️♥️.I will definitely go back, but you don't have to take my word for it 🤷🏾‍♀️. Go get and Go🏃🏾‍♀️

Mellow Mushroom is one of my favorite places for pizza. I however did not enjoy the Steak and Cheese Calzone, lots of cheese and crust

I love the pizza here. The crust is perfectly baked every time with a little crisp on the bottom and still a little chewy on the inside. Lots of variety on specialty pizzas and they do not skimp on toppings! This location has a "hip" vibe with retro booths and decor combined with a modern looking open kitchen. The service was decent but the appetizer we ordered was a little underwhelming. We got the pepperoni and cheese garlic bread and it was just ok at best. The bread was too light and it was lacking in overall flavor. The pizza we ordered was fantastic though.

Fresh ingredients, but very bland pizza! Stopped by for lunch today, and I was very excited when the pizza was brought to the table looking AMAZING; however, the excitement quickly died with the first bite. They need to reevaluate the ingredients of the sauce because it had absolutely no flavor. So much potential, but doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion.

The employees were extremely rude and had an attitude. The food is good but not good enough to make up for poor customer service. I will not be spending my money here again.

Awesome 👍... Great service and top quality ingredients make for a great meal and experience. They are doing a great job with cleaning and making you feel good about being in their establishment. I think each member of the staff makes it their personal best everyday. You can see it as well as experience it while you enjoy your time with them.

Famous pizza joint at Winston-Salem downtown. The best part about this place is that the chef makes pizza base using the fresh dough. It tastes excellent.

Even though it was extremely busy we where seated and taken care of quickly and the service was great, the food was also really good, especially the Great White pizza which was delicious.

When entering the restaurant the atmosphere was nice and inviting, and was instantly greeted and took to a table. The server was prompt and very courteous. Ordered the great white shark pizza and added some spinache and an order of the pretzel garlic bread. Food came out hot and timely. I would have to say it was one of the best pizzas I've had. If you have never ate here I would strongly suggest eating here!!!

Great service! Waitstaff were very helpful in making suggestions, food was incredible, and the place has a nice funky vibe. Conveniently located right around the corner from tje Marriott Winston-Salem.

The pizzas and appetizers are amazing. The staff in this location are great, very patient and helpful

Really good pizza. Easily the best I've had since moving south from Buffalo NY (an underrated pizza town).Lots of bonus points for an above average beer list. Had my first opportunity to try Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout there and the flight size wasn't priced terribly high IMO, maybe $6.

Lively place with good food & service. Enjoyed the pizza & cheese bread. Can't go wrong here.

Our appetizer wasn't warm enough for the cheese to be melted. My pizza was ok, although I asked for no raw onions and there were raw ones under the cheese, but my friend also said her pizza was sub-par. I have been to this location 4 times and three of them were not good, including today. The staff during the day is so blah......no one smiled or said anything other than what was necessary to order. Just not what I expect from Mellow Mushroom. I have had GREAT experiences in Raleigh, Durham and Atlanta......Winston was a big NOPE

Awesome food! First time my wife and I have gone. We got a holy shitake and the funky BBQ chicken half and half.

Went here Thursday evening for dinner. Service was fast and professional. Our waitress Alli was friendly, helpful and very good. The food was hot, fresh and tasted very good. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean.

I can never get enough of this place. Ever time I have the extra money and time to stop in, I do. I stopped in late night with a friend of mine for a quick bite. The staff is always super friendly. The food is fantastic and IF you have an issue with anything they do what they can to resolve it. Food, Booze, ample seating. What's there not to love? OH! And the atmosphere makes you feel like you're just hanging out in your hippie best friends basement. It's dope.

Awesome drink specials. Artichoke dip is excellent.

I'll give four stars, 3 for me and 5 for my wife's opinion of the pizza. I think it has way too much cheese but apparently some people like that. We went during a busy time and there was an issue with our order but it was resolved in a very professional way, so I rate the service very highly. It's definitely a very trendy place downtown, you should check it out.

I have only been here a few times, but the food and beer have been great each time. Mellow mushroom has several draft beers and assorted wines to accompany any food on the menu. The only problem is the overcharge on pizza and food as you would expect with a fine dining establishment like this. The lighting is very dim and dark in the restaurant, but this restaurant is in the heart of downtown Winston.

I've been here many times and is always very good. The pretzels are incredible and I order them every time I go. Fun place to go with friends!

Loved the wings!! Pizza was good...Lil Chef salad was actually pretty big and fresh & tasted so good. No complaints, will be back of course. Gotta love consistency! Oh, one star off bc the hostess sat someone at our table by accident (hey words), and we had to wait another 20 mins or so... Thankfully, we had the time lol smh.

Mellow Mushroom is always busy but the wait is never that long regardless of when you go. Everything I have tried here is phenomenal. Pizza is great, beers are great, overall super fun place to hang out at and get a good bite to eat.

Great pizza, very friendly bartender, within easy walking distance of the Marriott hotel. I definitely recommend the Holy Shitake Pie if you like mushrooms at all because the pizza was amazing! And there were tons of great beer choices, perfect for anyone who likes beers on tap.

Very crowded Friday night especially with a convention in town, so the visit could have gone bad easily, but it absolutely didn’t!! We were seated well ahead of the estimate, Sara took amazing care of us, and the food was great. The local pie was awesome! (try it at least once)Sara noticed my daughter get up to use the restroom at the same time we were receiving her food by coincidence and she came back with something to make sure her food stayed hot while she was away from the table. That’s an insane attention to detail and anticipation of customer needs! She’s definitely not only just another pretty face!! We will return again for sure! If it’s crowded, hang in there— it’s worth it.

Food and waitress were outstanding! Love the new menu! We visited for lunch and my wife had a salad and I had a calzone. We also shared the hummus appetizer. My 3 yr old son enjoyed his pizza. The only reason for 4 stars was the hostess...we asked for a high chair and a sling (for our car seat with 2 month old). I stood at the table for 3 minutes with car seat waiting for both...she never came. Waitress had to retrieve the high chair, no slings, car seat had to balance on a chair.

Love the MM downtown. Great beer selection and delicious food. Never had a bad experience here and have been going for years. There's often a wait, so belly up to the bar and order a drink while waiting.

Food was pretty dang good! Service was ehhhh very very slow. I think our party of 6 waited 80min for our food. Then the manager said we couldn’t get any type of discount because they said the kitchen was just slow. That’s sorry service I think.

Horrible service, waitress was slow and forgetful. Ordered 2 drinks from the bar words bought one we said 45 minutes never got out fif or the other drink we finally paid for the drink we had and left. Definitely will never go back

Very exquisite pizza and very friendly waiting staff. Highly recommended. Only minus is wait times but thats to be expected with the volume of customers.

We visited for the first time today. New to NC. Wish I could have given 5 stars ....the food was awesome! The service wasn't so good. We sat at the bar and we asked for beer recommendations for a flight. The bartender said he hadn't tried any of the beers...really?? We ordered a flight of 4 tastings and one of them wasn't anything close to what we ordered. When we asked the bartender he mumbled something about the pale ale i chose wasn't available so he sub'd a fruity cider which was horrible. The pretzels we ordered were delicious but the bartender eventually came back and said he forgot to put our pizza order in. Pizza was amazing once it finally arrived. And then while waiting to order another beer we listened to the bartender and a server talking about how they didnt want to live in their parents houses anymore, blah blah blah. We will go back only because the food was so good. Hopefully the service will be better next time

Fresh salad, all great ingredients, and brusetta. Highly recommend!
